A major credit card company tells us that "membership has its privileges". That’s only part of the story. Membership also has its joys and delights. And, of course, membership has its responsibilities.
Isolation and loneliness lead to despair. Everyone needs to feel as though they belong somewhere. Belonging somewhere brings connection. Belonging to an organization with purposes and goals that resonate with your own values can bring a renewed sense of meaning and purpose to life.
If you have not joined the membership of the Mission Hospice Society, and if you care about providing dignity, comfort and quality of life to the dying and their families, then we urge you to join us.
Membership with Hospice does not need to involve a hefty time commitment. Even members who pay dues, attend the AGM and read the newsletter help the Society in a number of ways:
There is ample opportunity for members to become more involved if they wish. The Society is always looking for volunteer visitors, and volunteers to help with office work and fundraising. Helping with hospice work in this community is wonderful and challenging.
Come and belong with us!

Often people choose to celebrate the life of a loved one by organizing an event in their memory. It might be an annual or a one-off event, perhaps on a loved one's birthday or a special anniversary. Often family and friends choose to organize an event or challenge that reflects the personality or interests of the person being remembered.
Here are a just a few memorial event and challenge ideas:
If you would like to organize an event in memory of a loved one and raise money for Hospice, the Mission Hospice Society can provide you with a fundraising pack including sponsor forms, information about the Society, collection tins, t-shirts and much more. For more information, please contact the Society's Executive Director at execdir@missionhospice.bc.ca.
Mission Hospice Society has a committed fundraising team who are available to support you with your fundraising activities to provide a mutually beneficial relationship. Fundraising is a great way to show your employees that you care at the same time as uniting your team with one common aim of raising money for a good cause.
We have solid connections with local Mission and area media and would endeavour to promote fundraising activities to gain awareness for both your company and the Mission Hospice Society. Contact the Society's Executive Director at execdir@missionhospice.bc.ca for more information on possible fundraising partnerships.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be mailed to the Society, or given at the Hospice or at the funeral service. Memorial donations can be made by cheque, cash (in person at the Hospice), or by credit card. Tax receipts are issued for all donations.

A bequest is a gift made through your will. When you write or revise your will, you may choose to make a bequest to the Mission Hospice Society, knowing that your gift will help a person with a terminal illness experience an added quality of life throughout their remaining days.

The Virtual Memory Keepers' Wall was specially created to mark Mission Hospice Society's 25th Anniversary in 2010. As a donor your support will ensure that Mission Hospice Society continues to provide compassionate care and support to people living with life-threatening illnesses, and their loved ones, at no charge.
With an annual donation of $250 a year over five years, you will be invited to honour a loved one who has passed on our virtual (online) Memory Keepers' Wall over the duration of your five-year pledge. You will also be specially acknowledged in our printed and electronic media, and receive a charitable tax receipt for the maximum allowable amount for income tax purposes.
The virtual memory wall is currently under construction.
